TRAVELING
INSPIRES A ‘REVOLUTION’
IN SENIOR’S CLOTHES
Despite being retired, John is incredibly busy. “We are
very active and stay on the go all the time. We love to travel
– but we don’t take tours or cruises – we like
to travel on our own. Traveling caused a revolution in the way
we think about clothes,” John said. “We buy a lot
of our stuff from TravelSmith and places like that. I use a lot
of high-tech clothes – they are lightweight, warm and easy
to clean.”
The Nano-Tex travel clothing John wears from Eddie Bauer and
Gap fit right into his new, more enhanced wardrobe. “When
you travel you want to carry some clothes that will do double
duty – keep clean but also look nice. I can wear the Eddie
Bauer khaki pants just about anywhere – I’ve also
found them to be softer than other khakis. Hiking has given
us insight into high-tech clothes – like the Nano-Tex
ones – clothes that don’t get dirty as fast, that
don’t wrinkle as much, that can be washed and dried quickly.”
The clothes come in handy even when John isn’t off on
some new adventure. “One day I was driving our truck and
put my coffee between my legs. Someone stopped on the ramp and
20oz of coffee spilled all over my pant legs and on the floor.
Because I was wearing the stain proof pants, a good bit of it
just brushed off and the rest washed out. It beads up really
well and doesn’t soak in real quick. I haven’t found
anything yet that has stained them,” he said.
