Financial Analyst

Nano-Tex is an advanced fabric company based in Oakland, California which is known for nanotechnology-based innovations in fabric. Our products are leading an evolution of the textile industry towards value-added functional fabrics which enhance consumers’ lives.

We are seeking a financial analyst with strong system and organizational skills.  This position offers an excellent learning opportunity as it will be directly involved in a wide range of activities in support of financial reporting and supply chain management of a global consumer products company.

The ideal candidate will be innately analytical, inquisitive, and pro-active.  Skills required:  Understanding of financial reporting and accounting functions, strong MS Office / Excel knowledge, and the ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of analytical models in Excel
  • Development of budget worksheets
  • Work with departments to prepare monthly operational data
    • Initiate monthly variance analysis of recorded to budgeted earnings/expenses to current year and prior year data.
    • Generate monthly Inventory, Production, Sales plan.
    • Issue standard quarterly / monthly / weekly reports.
  • Assist in the month end close:
    • Some AP & AR, GL Entries
    • Research transactions.
  • Maintenance of the Sales Master File
  • Pricing and Trend Analysis
  • Pricing history and quotations for each (major) program
  • Updates of the Operational Forecast and the IPS
  • Generation of Financial Forecast schedules, including the monthly update of the actual results
  • Margin Reconciliation
  • Board reporting packages
  • Region profitability reports
  • Ad Hoc Analysis

Qualifications:

  • Business Major in Finance/Accounting with courses completed in fundamentals.
  • Prior work experience, preferably with some accounting/bookkeeping.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with ERP systems a plus.
