Nature was the inspiration.
Founded in 1998 by Dr. David Soane, former polymer chemist and
Vice Chairman of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the
University of California at Berkeley, the company’s team of scientists set
out to replicate the natural water-repellency of plant surfaces and animal
coats.
Today, Nano-Tex is a leading fabric innovation company providing
nanotechnology-based textile enhancements to the apparel, home and commercial/residential
interiors markets. Nano-Tex is headquartered in Oakland, California with
operations across the United States, Asia and Europe. To date, more than
80 textile mills worldwide are utilizing Nano-Tex treatments in products
sold by more than 100 leading brands Worldwide.

We were the first company to apply nanotechnology to fabrics, and our technology sets
the industry standard. We use nanotechnology to transform the molecular structures of
fibers and create fabrics that offer unsurpassed performance and comfort. By working
at the nano-scale, our textile enhancements provide amazing functional improvements
without changing the natural characteristics of the fabric, like hand and drape. And, since
our technologies permanently bond with the individual fibers of the fabric, our durability
is unsurpassed.

Our innovations create exceptional performance in everyday items which
serve to enhance appearance, provide protection, improve comfort, increase
longevity, and make textiles easy to care for and maintain. Our current
portfolio of products addresses 5 key textile technology segments, including
repellency/stain resistance, moisture management, odor control, static
elimination and wrinkle free.
Some of our creations are in the market today. Some will be created to meet the evolving
needs of tomorrow. All will surprise you.
